Geo ham is best known for his car racing posters, particularly the 24 Heures du Mans and the Grand Prix. He was a master at capturing the fluidity, speed and power of the cars in motion.

At an early age he showed a strong aptitude for realistic drawing. Ham claims that his passion for speed began when as a young child, a local politician piloted a plane over his village, Laval, throwing political flyers from the soaring aircraft. Two years later, Laval hosted a major race for autos and motorcycles. Ham was hooked.

When he was 18, he moved to Paris to study at the Ecole National des Arts Decoratifs. By age 20, he had become well known, designing his first magazine cover for a popular car magazine.
